[Reproducibility of the jaw relation record].
The jaw relations in edentulous patients were determined with the use of the gotic arch and wax bite blocks. To compare the different methods interchangeable tracing devices and wax registrations were used. This apparatus was alternatingly used by various investigators, but with the same base plate.

Accuracy of Recording Edentulous Arch Relations Using an Optical Jaw-Tracking System: An In Vitro Study [PDF]
To establish a recording method for edentulous jaw relations and to perform quantitative accuracy evaluation in vitro.Maxillary and mandibular edentulous arch models and complete dentures were mounted on an articulator, simulating protrusion (A), left and right laterotrusion (B and C), and small opening jaw relations (D), aided by metal foil wax record.

An update of a one-appointment master impression and jaw relation record technique.
Dentists may want to consider using an update of a unique complete denture technique that saves total chair time and, therefore, decreases cost. The technique combines appointments two and three, during which time the dentist both makes the master impressions and records the maxillomandibular relationships.

A system for continuously quantifying of jaw movements in terms of jaw angle was tested in combination with a previously tried method for simultaneous recording of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) sounds and electromyographic (EMG) activity. The system was used to measure the degree of rotation of the lower jaw in the sagittal plane in relation to the ...
