Dental Calculus Formation Is Linked to Diet and Phylogeny in Mammals
In a survey of > 1600 specimens across all mammalian orders, we found that most species present dental calculus. We found calculus production to be strongly associated with herbivory, and we provide recommendations for the use of dental calculus in collections‐based research. ABSTRACT The oral microbiome is implicated in a wide diversity of fundamental

This study provides the first comprehensive anatomical and CT characterization of the nasal cavity of the grey heron, enabling the identification of its major components and spatial organization. Correlative evaluation of multiplanar CT images with anatomical sections proved highly effective for delineating landmarks, offering a reference for clinical ...

Intranasal midazolam–butorphanol premedication in traumatised buzzards (Buteo spp.) aims to provide safer sedation by minimising mask induction stress. This method significantly reduces sevoflurane requirements while maintaining stable cardiopulmonary parameters. It is a safe and practical alternative that enhances patient welfare and induction quality.

ABSTRACT Low‐coverage whole‐genome sequencing (lcWGS) combined with genotype imputation is increasingly being used to generate large genomic datasets at reduced cost, offering a promising alternative for conservation genomics. Here, we use the Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus), a species with extremely low genetic diversity, genetically differentiated ...

Effect of Oral Submucous Fibrosis on Jaw Dimensions [PDF]
Objective:The disuse of the jaws owing to the restricted movement of the mandible in advanced cases of oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) may have an effect on the morphologic features of the jaw bones.
