The JEM‐EUSO Mission

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011
The JEM‐EUSO mission explores the origin of the extreme energy cosmic rays (EECRs) above 100 EeV and explores the limits of the fundamental physics, through the observations of their arrival directions and energies. It is designed to achieve an exposure larger than 1 million km2 sr year at the highest energies to open a new particle astronomy channel ...

Jem-x Detector

1996
The JEM-X instrument utilizes two identical, high pressure, imaging Micro Strip Gas Chambers (MSGC's) as detector units. The primary energy range of the detector is 3-35 keV. The design is based on the heritage of DSRI's HEPC/LEPC instruments onboard the Spectrum-X-Gamma satellite. The main differences are the larger active area of 500 cm² and 5 bar Xe/

JEM-EUSO: Extreme Universe Space Observatory on JEM/ISS

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2007
EUSO is a super-wide field UV telescope to detect Ultra-High Energy Cosmic-Rays (UHECRs) with energy above 10 20 eV . It is attached to the International Space Station (ISS) and observes fluorescence photons emitted by giant air showers produced by UHECR.
