Active flow control of jet mixing using steady and pulsed fluid tabs

open access: yes, 2008
Flow control techniques for increasing the rate of jet mixing in axisymmetric nozzle flows have been investigated. A combination of water tunnel and high-speed airflow facilities is used to assess the near-field jet behaviour.

Stability of a jet in crossflow

open access: yes, 2010
We have produced a fluid dynamics video with data from Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) of a jet in crossflow at several low values of the velocity inflow ratio R.

Multifunctional Neural Probes Enable Bidirectional Electrical, Optical, and Chemical Recording and Stimulation In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Convergence drawing is used to create flexible, microscale, multifunctional fiber‐based neural probes. Optimized materials selection enables individual devices to perform neural recording, electrical stimulation, optogenetics, fiber photometry, fluid delivery, and voltammetric neurotransmitter detection in rodents.

Advancements in Understanding the Physicochemical Properties of Reticular Materials: An In Situ and Operando Spectroscopic Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores how in situ and operando spectroscopic techniques reveal the real‐time behavior of reticular materials, including MOFs and COFs. These methods track material formation and functionalization, structural changes, defect formation, dynamic responses to external triggers, and catalytic processes.

Jet-fluid string formation and decay in high-energy heavy-ion collisions

open access: yes, 2007
We propose a new hadronization mechanism, jet-fluid string (JFS) formation and decay, to understand observables in intermediate to high-$p_{T}$ regions comprehensively.

TriMag Microrobots: 3D‐Printed Microrobots for Magnetic Actuation, Imaging, and Hyperthermia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
TriMag microrobots are two‐photon polymerized hydrogel structures embedded with in situ synthesized Fe3O4 and CoFe2O4 nanoparticles, enabling magnetic actuation, high‐resolution magnetic particle imaging (MPI), and efficient magnetothermal heating for deep‐tissue biomedical interventions including tracking, navigation, and tumor ablation.
