Atmospherich pressure plasma jets: Concepts and realization of miniaturized jets and jet arrays

2008 IEEE 35th International Conference on Plasma Science, 2008
Plasma jets presented here are based on cylindrical dielectric barrier discharges. Multi jet arrays formed from bundles of 6 and 10 individual single jets are realized in very compact housings. Surface treatments of polymers to increase their adhesion are discussed and compared to results achieved by other types of plasmas.

Jet‐to‐jet interactions in atmospheric‐pressure plasma jet arrays for surface processing

Plasma Processes and Polymers, 2017
Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jet (APPJ) arrays are considered as one of the most promising methods for uniform plasma processing of large uneven surfaces. To improve the downstream uniformity and enhance the surface treatment effects, it is important to reveal the mechanisms of the jet‐to‐jet interactions of plasma plumes in the jet array. In this paper,

Two-Dimensional Jet Mixing With a Pressure Gradient

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1975
An analytical study of nonsimilar jet mixing is made for compressible, nonisoenergetic flows. The conservation equations are solved for each of the streams above and below the dividing streamline by using Meksyn’s asymptotic method of integration for solving boundary-layer problems.

High-pressure water jet injury of the hand

The Journal of Hand Surgery, 1985
A rare case of high-pressure injection injury to the thumb with water is reported. The problem was managed without surgical exploration despite subsequent involvement of the small finger.

Pressure Velocity Coupling in a Subsonic Round Jet

International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, 1999
Abstract An experimental investigation involving simultaneous measurements of the radial distribution of velocity within the shear layer of a jet and the longitudinal distribution of pressure surrounding a jet is performed. The use of two statistical approaches (proper orthogonal decomposition, POD and linear stochastic estimation, LSE) permits the ...

Turbulent pressure field in a co-annular jet

13th Aerospace Sciences Meeting, 1975
Single point and two-point fluctuating static pressure measurements have been made in the initial mixing and transition regions in a co-annular circular jet. Space scales, correlation and time scales in the convected frame, and convection velocities have been determined for both broad band and narrow band frequency components.

A pressure curve monitor for intratracheal jet ventilation

Journal of Biomedical Engineering, 1983
Most of the complications during intratracheal jet ventilation for laryngomicroscopy are due to the unnoticed wearing off of laryngeal muscle relaxation. Recovering laryngeal muscle function will, by slightly narrowing the size of the glottis, influence the slope of the quickly rising part of the pressure curve, when influences on maximum airway ...
