HEATING OF NANOPARTICLES IN LOW-PRESSURE PLASMA JETS

Problems of Atomic Science and Technology, 2022
The heating of nanoparticles in a low-pressure plasma jet was studied with the help of computer simulation. Modeling of the expansion of a plasma jet with a dispersed phase, which was a mixture of nanoparticles of two sizes, was carried out within the framework of a multi-fluid axisymmetric hydrodynamic model. As a result of the calculations, the ...

Pressure Drop Model and Jet Features of Ultra High Pressure Water Jet for Downhole Intensifier

Journal of Energy Resources Technology, 2022
Abstract Existing models can hardly provide a reliable guidance in designing intensifier utilizing axial vibration energy of drill strings. The formation process of jet and the pulsation characteristics of flow field had not been reported. Therefore, a new model combined plunger movement and nozzle pressure drop is proposed.

The Pressure Jet Helicopter

The Journal of the Royal Aeronautical Society, 1958
Before enlarging on the main subject of this paper, it will be helpful to clarify some fundamental conceptions of various rotor drive configurations. In the past the original shaft-driven helicopter presented two major problems to the designer. These were first: the necessity to choose between either some torque balancing device or a multi-rotor layout ...

Pressure fluctuations in a jet engine

British Journal of Applied Physics, 1953
Pressure fluctuations have been recorded at various points in the ducting of a jet engine. The recordings were made under a variety of steady running and accelerating conditions with a standard engine and with engines adapted for two different after-burning systems.

Pressure pulsations on an obstacle in a jet

Fluid Dynamics, 1980
At the present time, much attention is devoted to auto-oscillations that arise from the interaction between a supersonic underexpanded jet and an obstacle that it encounters at right angles [1, 2]. There are far fewer data on the pressure pulsations on an obstacle in the absence of auto-oscillations [3–6].

Atmospheric pressure plasma jets

2015
Cold atmospheric pressure plasma jets, although mostly researched for applications in surface treatment, are rarely investigated in the presence of a surface. This paper presents the properties of plasma bullets formed in the capillary as well as the dynamics of the propagation of the plasma on dielectric surfaces as a function of applied voltage ...

The Effect of Jet Exit Pressure on Jets in Supersonic Crossflow

2020
This thesis presents the study of supersonic gas jets used as a fuel injection mechanism in high-speed aircraft engines. Varying the pressure and velocity of the injected jet is found to have a significant effect on not only the mixing and spreading of the jet, but could also potentially alleviate some of the losses incurred during the process.

Microplasma jet at atmospheric pressure

Applied Physics Letters, 2006
A nitrogen microplasma jet operated at atmospheric pressure was developed for treating thermally sensitive materials. For example, the plasma sources in treatment of vulnerable biological materials must operate near the room temperature at the atmospheric pressure, without any risk of arcing or electrical shock.

Pressure collimation of relativistic jets

Chinese Astronomy and Astrophysics, 1989
Abstract Spacetime curvature around a black hole decollimates jets produced near the hole. For fluid jets, pressure effects in most cases can dominate over gravitational effects, thus leading to an overall collimation of the flow. In order to keep a jet flowing in regions far from the black hole, the external pressure Pθ of the medium should not drop

Jet‐to‐jet interactions in atmospheric‐pressure plasma jet arrays for surface processing

Plasma Processes and Polymers, 2017
Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jet (APPJ) arrays are considered as one of the most promising methods for uniform plasma processing of large uneven surfaces. To improve the downstream uniformity and enhance the surface treatment effects, it is important to reveal the mechanisms of the jet‐to‐jet interactions of plasma plumes in the jet array. In this paper,
