Vector boson tagged jets and jet substructure [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
In these proceedings, we report on recent results related to vector boson-tagged jet production in heavy ion collisions and the related modification of jet substructure, such as jet shapes and jet momentum sharing distributions.

Jet fragmentation function and groomed substructure of bottom quark jets in proton-proton collisions at 5.02 TeV [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
A measurement of the substructure of bottom quark jets (b jets) in proton-proton (pp) collisions is presented. The measurement uses data collected in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment in 2017, corresponding to an ...

Jet Substructure Without Trees [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2011
We present an alternative approach to identifying and characterizing jet substructure. An angular correlation function is introduced that can be used to extract angular and mass scales within a jet without reference to a clustering algorithm.

Jet measurements with ALICE: substructure, dead cone, charm jets [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of The Eighth Annual Conference on Large Hadron Collider Physics — PoS(LHCP2020), 2020
A selection of recent jet measurements are presented from the ALICE experiment at the CERN LHC in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, focusing on substructure results for inclusive and charmed jets.

Jet substructure in ATLAS

open access: yes, 2011
Measurements are presented of the jet invariant mass and substructure in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV with the ATLAS detector using an integrated luminosity of 37 pb$^{-1}$.

Jet substructure of light and heavy flavor jets at RHIC

open access: yes
Jet substructure studies at the Large Hadron Collider have been used to constrain parton distribution functions, test perturbative QCD, measure the strong-coupling constant, and probe the properties of the quark-gluon plasma.

Study of quark and gluon jet substructure in Z+jet and dijet events from pp collisions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Measurements of jet substructure describing the composition of quark- and gluon-initiated jets are presented. Proton-proton (pp) collision data at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV collected with the CMS detector are used, corresponding to an integrated ...

Jet substructure by accident [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2013
Abstract We propose a new search strategy for high-multiplicity hadronic final states. When new particles are produced at threshold, the distribution of their decay products is approximately isotropic. If there are many partons in the final state, it is likely that several will be clustered into the same large-radius jet.

Disentangling jet modification in jet simulations and in Z+jet data

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
The selection of jets in heavy-ion collisions based on their p T after jet quenching is known to bias towards jets that lost little energy in the quark-gluon plasma.
