Development of an Agricultural Job-Exposure Matrix for British Columbia, Canada
Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, 2002Farmers in British Columbia (BC), Canada have been shown to have unexplained elevated proportional mortality rates for several cancers. Because agricultural exposures have never been documented systematically in BC, a quantitative agricultural Job-exposure matrix (JEM) was developed containing exposure assessments from 1950 to 1998.

A Population-Based Job Exposure Matrix for Power-Frequency Magnetic Fields
Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene, 2007A population-based job exposure matrix (JEM) was developed to assess personal exposures to power-frequency magnetic fields (MF) for epidemiologic studies. The JEM compiled 2,317 MF measurements taken on or near workers by 10 studies in the United States, Sweden, New Zealand, Finland, and Italy.

EFFECTS OF THREE FEATURES OF A JOB-EXPOSURE MATRIX ON RISK ESTIMATES
Epidemiology, 1994We tested the impact of three features of a job-exposure matrix on risk estimates in a case-control study that evaluated the association of methylene chloride and astrocytic brain cancer. These features were probability of use of the agent; the consideration of decade of predominant use of methylene chloride within each occupation; and the use of a ...

Validity of a job exposure matrix for physical activity
1998ntroduction and objective For the benefit of epidemiological research on physical activity and the risk of cancer, a job exposure matrix for physical activity (JEMPA) was made, including all occupations of the Dutch version of the 4-digit ILO occupational classification system. Physical activity was defined by number of hours sitting per 8-hour working
