It is unclear to me precisely how the Kant—Russell line of argument shows that my version of the OA breaks down — that is, is either formally invalid, informally invalid, or unsound. Nevertheless, the thrust of Hick’s objection is clear — it is illicit and precritical to speak, as the OA does, of existence ‘in the mind’.
