Plastic temperature-dependent constitutive modeling of pure aluminum diaphragms at large strains by using bulge test

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
A plastic temperature-dependent constitutive model is developed for 0.05 mm thickness pure aluminum diaphragms at large strains by using bulge test method. Rupture strain of the material is recorded below two percent according to tensile tests.

A constitutive relation of AZ80 magnesium alloy during hot deformation based on Arrhenius and Johnson–Cook model

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2019
In order to understand the constitutive behavior of as-cast AZ80 with large grain size, the uniaxial hot compression tests were carried out over a series of isothermal upsetting experiments. The maximum deformation degree was 65%.

Numerical simulations of impact behaviour of thin steel plates subjected to cylindrical, conical and hemispherical non-deformable projectiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, a numerical study of normal perforation of thin steel plates impacted by different projectile shapes is reported. The numerical simulations of this problem have been performed using a finite element code, ABAQUS-Explicit with a fixed and ...

Hot tensile fracture characteristics and constitutive modelling of polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The effects of strain rate and deformation temperature on the deformation behaviors of polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) were studied by uniaxial tensile tests with the temperature range of 23–150 °C and strain rate of 0.01–1 s−1.

Flow and fracture behaviour of FV535 steel at different triaxialities, strain rates and temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The new generation jet engines operate at highly demanding working conditions. Such conditions need very precise design which implies an exhaustive study of the engine materials and behaviour in their extreme working conditions.

Influence of the constitutive flow law in FEM simulation of the Radial forging process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Radial forging is a widely used forming process for manufacturing hollow products in transport industry. As the deformation of the workpiece, during the process, is a consequence of a large number of high-speed strokes, the Johnson-Cook constitutive law (

Constitutive modelling of the 6061 aluminium alloy under hot rolling conditions and large strain ranges

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2020
Constitutive models were built based on the results of isothermal hot compression tests for a 6061 aluminium alloy at temperatures of 400, 450, 500, and 550 °C and strain rates of 0.1, 1, and 10 s−1, which reproduced conditions of the hot rolling forming

Modification of the Johnson–Cook Material Model for Improved Simulation of Hard Milling High-Performance Steel Components

open access: yesApplied Mechanics, 2021
Understanding the effect of thermomechanical loads during finish cutting processes, in our case hard milling, on the surface integrity of the workpiece is crucial for the creation of defined quality characteristics of high-performance components ...
