Stratified Spaces: Joining Analysis, Topology and Geometry [PDF]
For manifolds, topological properties such as Poincaré duality and invariants such as the signature and characteristic classes, results and techniques from complex algebraic geometry such as the Hirzebruch-Riemann-Roch theorem, and results from global analysis such as the Atiyah-Singer index theorem, worked hand in hand in the past to weave a tight web

Compact group actions on topological and noncommutative joins
We consider the Type 1 and Type 2 noncommutative Borsuk-Ulam conjectures of Baum, D$ą$browski, and Hajac: there are no equivariant morphisms $A \to A \circledast_δH$ or $H \to A \circledast_δH$, respectively, when $H$ is a nontrivial compact quantum group acting freely on a unital $C^*$-algebra $A$.

A Note on the Join of Varieties of Monoids with LI [PDF]
Version published in the proceedings of the MFCS 2021 conference.International audienceIn this note, we give a characterisation in terms of identities of the join of $\mathbf{V}$ with the variety of finite locally trivial semigroups $\mathbf{LI}$ for ...

A Compact Topology for Sigma-Algebra Convergence [PDF]
We propose a sequential topology on the collection of sub-sigma-algebras included in a separable probability space. We prove compactness of the conditional expectations with respect to L2-bounded random variables along sequences of sub-sigma-algebras ...

Translating Orc Features into Petri Nets and the Join Calculus
Cook and Misra's Orc is an elegant language for orchestrating distributed services, able to cover e.g. van der Aalst's workflow patterns. We aim to understand the key novel features of Orc by comparing it with variations of Petri nets.

Given two topologies, T1 and T2 on the same set X , the intersection topology with respect to T1 and T2 is the topology with basis{U1 ∩ U2 : U1 Є T1, U2 Є T2}Equivalently, T is the join of T1 and T2 in the lattice of topologies on the set X . This thesis

The graphs of join-semilattices and the shape of congruence lattices of particle lattices [PDF]
summary:We attach to each $\langle 0,\vee \rangle$-semilattice $\boldsymbol S$ a graph $\boldsymbol G_{\boldsymbol S}$ whose vertices are join-irreducible elements of $\boldsymbol S$ and whose edges correspond to the reflexive dependency relation.
