Joint Impedance and Facies Inversion – Seismic inversion redefined

First Break, 2014
In this paper we will first review the industry-standard simultaneous inversion method (which derives continuous impedances) and subsequently identify some pitfalls. We will then introduce our new Joint Impedance and Facies Inversion technology (which we call Ji-Fi for short in this paper), which overcomes these pitfalls by recasting the seismic ...

Joint Inversion of Multiple Observations

2018
Joint inversion becomes increasingly important with the availability of various types of measurements related to the same quantity. Questions arising in this context are how to combine the different data sets in the first place and, secondly, how to choose the multiple parameters that naturally occur in such a combination.

Joint Inversion of Rock Properties – A Case Study

71st EAGE Conference and Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2009, 2009
Geophysical methods are used to obtain physical properties of the subsurface, by inverting the constitutive equations. If there exists a common set of rock properties (cross-properties) that influence different measurements, their joint utilization can ...

Manipulator inverse kinematics based on joint functions

Proceedings. 1988 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2003
A novel iterative inverse transform solution for robotic manipulators, termed functional joint control (FJC), is proposed. It is applicable to an important class of robots that includes many industrial robots. FJC is numerically well-behaved around singularities. The rate of convergence of FJC is comparable to other iterative solutions.

The Dynamics of the Subtalar Joint in Sudden Inversion of the Foot

Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 1990
The human subtalar joint was modelled as a quasi-linear second-order underdamped system to simulate sudden inversion motion of the foot relative to the shank. The model was fed with experimental data obtained from six subjects on a specially constructed apparatus.

Inverse estimation of joint angles of robot arm by network inversion

SICE Annual Conference 2007, 2007
The inverse problems that estimate the cause from the results have been studied in the various engineering fields. The network inversion was proposed for solving inverse problems using a multilayer neural network. In this study, the network inversion is applied to the inverse estimation of the joint angles of the robot arm.

Joint inversion for correlated models in linear inverse problems

2009
Inverse problems arise in many fields. They are usually ill-posed since they often violate one or more of Hadmard's three conditions for well-posedness: existence, uniqueness and stability. In this thesis, we propose a new method for computing approximate solutions in certain linear inverse problems.
