Joint position sense, motor imagery and tactile acuity in lateral elbow tendinopathy: A cross-sectional study

open access: yes, 2021
BACKGROUND: Impairments of sensorimotor function are evident in individuals with lateral elbow tendinopathy (LET), although understanding of the mechanisms for this is lacking.

The Effect of Six Weeks of Neuromuscular Training on Joint Position Sense and Lower Extremity Function in Male Athletes with Functional Ankle Instability [PDF]

open access: yesSport Sciences and Health Research, 2017
Lateral ankle sprain is the most common ligament injury in athletes and functional instability is one of the disabling consequences of the ankle sprain.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Effects of local treatment with and without sensorimotor and balance exercise in individuals with neck pain: protocol for a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2018
Background Impaired cervical joint position sense and balance are associated with neck pain. Specific therapeutic exercise and manual therapy are effective for improving neck pain and functional ability but their effects on joint position sense and ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Influence of hamstrings flexibility on the knee joint position sense

open access: yes, 2023
Introduction: Different factors have been suggested to positively or negatively influence the knee joint position sense; however, the effect of hamstrings’ flexibility is poorly investigated.
