The Strength of Soldered Joints

Metal Science Journal, 1968
AbstractThe strength of soldered joints has been measured as a function of their width and the results are compared with theoretical estimates. An explanation is given for noted deviations from theoretical predictions. Measurements have also been made of the elastic modulus of solder at high stresses. A possible relation to a ductile fracture mechanism

The Strength of Glued Joints

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1944
WITHIN the last year or so we have learned to glue metals together with a strength which brings this method of joining materials into competition with riveting, at least in the thin gauges used in the aircraft and motor industries. Apart from this new extension of gluing to the metal working trades synthetic adhesives have already revolutionized the ...

Reproducibility and relationship of single‐joint strength vs multi‐joint strength and power in aging individuals

Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, 2006
Introduction: Reliable and sensitive muscle strength/power assessments are essential when evaluating age‐related and/or training‐induced changes in maximal strength and power.Aim: To investigate the reproducibility and inter‐relationship of single‐joint isokinetic/isometric leg muscle strength vs multi‐joint mechanical muscle function during counter ...

An experimental analysis of the strength of the taper joint

Technology and Health Care, 2016
BACKGROUND: The strength of the taper joint plays a vital role in orthopedics which takes the full load of our body. Till date various techniques has been used for the stem manufacturing and an alternative to all those has been presented in the article.
