Summary Flowering time, an important factor in plant adaptability and genetic improvement, is regulated by various genes in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). In this study, we characterized a tomato mutant, EARLY FLOWERING (EF), that developed flowers much earlier than its parental control.

This research focuses on hybrid woven fibre metal laminates (HWFMLs), specifically on the innovative hybridization of natural woven fibres (NWFs) with aluminium diamond microexpandable mesh (Al‐DMEM) in thin laminates. More specifically, it investigates the effect on the mechanical and water absorption properties of incorporating basalt (B), jute (J ...

Experimental and Numerical Investigations of Flat Approach Slab–Soil Interaction in Jointless Bridge
In jointless bridges, a grade flat approach slab (GFAS) with the same elevation as the pavement can transfer the girder’s longitudinal deformation to the backfill.

Shrinkage Cracking of Concrete Slabs-On-Grade: A Numerical Parametric Study
Industrial pavements are thin slabs on a continuous support subjected to restrained shrinkage and loads. The use of fibers as an alternative reinforcement to steel welded wire mesh and rebars is today an extensive practice for the reinforcement of ...

Phenotypic effects of jointless gene in tomato
A study of the pleiotropic effects of the jointless gene in tomato (j1) was conducted in both the greenhouse and the field. This gene was found to mask the determinate character, controlled by a single recessive gene (sp.). This effect was found by crossing the phenotypically indeterminate and jointless variety Dwarf Champion with known indeterminate ...

WORK SIMULATION OF CONTINUOUS WELDED RAIL INTO CURVES BY RAY LESS 350M
The method of continuous welded rail (CWR) track calculation is developed in the paper. The method allows carrying out calculations of buckling CWR in curves with radius less than 350 m.

Can Words Carve a Jointless Reality? Parmenides and Sankara
Parmenides and Śaṅkara are two ontological non-dualists who regard any division—for instance, between everyday objects or individuals—as conventional. Both Parmenides and Śaṅkara, by arguing for the undividedness of absolute reality, provide a vantage point from which to consider the possible arbitrarinessof all divisions, which originate from human ...

Jointless Bridge Design at the Virginia Department of Transportation
AbstractIn an effort to reduce bridge lifecycle costs, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has developed new design method aimed at the elimination of expansion joints. Various structural details have been experimented with, including full integral abutment with a moment relief hinge, semi-integral abutment, and deck extension. In addition,
