A Lewis Acid Stabilized Ketenimine in an Unusual Variant of the Electrophilic Aromatic Substitution
By the action of a strong Lewis acid, isomerization of the tricyanomethane to the ketenimine, HN=C=C(CN)2, is triggered, which in turn directly attacks an aromatic species in an electrophilic aromatic substitution. Abstract Electrophilic aromatic substitution (EAS) can provide a straightforward approach to the efficient synthesis of functionalized ...

Russia’s Soft Power as a Limited Efficiency Tool in Lithuania
[full article, abstract in English; abstract in Lithuanian] Lithuania has been a target of Russia’s soft power efforts for the past two decades. The aim of this article is to analyse Russia’s soft power influence possibilities in Lithuania.

On the smoothness of $C^1$-contact maps in $C^{\infty}$-rigid Carnot groups [PDF]
We show that in any $C^\infty$-rigid Carnot group in the sense of Ottazzi - Warhurst, $C^1$-contact maps are automatically smooth.

Equivariant birational geometry of quintic del Pezzo surface [PDF]
In this paper we prove that there are exactly two $G$-minimal surfaces which are $G$-birational to the quintic del Pezzo surface, where $G \cong C_5 \rtimes C_4$. These surfaces are the quintic del Pezzo surface itself and the surface $\mathbb{P}^1 \times \mathbb{P}^1$.

This article investigates optimal processing conditions for the laser‐based powder bed fusion of WE43. To limit the interaction with remaining oxygen, a 3 vol% hydrogen admixture to the inert gas is investigated. Furthermore, heat treatments are investigated in the range of 250–350 °C for 48 h.

The Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with staggered fermions [PDF]
We investigate the neighbourhood of the chiral phase transition in a lattice Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model, using both Monte Carlo methods and lattice Schwinger-Dyson equations.

This study investigates the role of hole‐blocking layers (HBLs), particularly the combination of two HBLs in photomultiplication‐type organic photodetectors (PM‐OPDs), which results in high gain and record‐fast response. The proposed HBL strategy also allows for the use of photoactive layer with balanced donor–acceptor stoichiometry, which can be ...

Multi seasonal discrete time risk model revisited [PDF]
In this work we set up the distribution function of $\mathcal{M}:=\sup_{n\geqslant1}\sum_{i=1}^{n}{(Z_i-1)}$, where the random walk $\sum_{i=1}^{n}Z_i, n\in\mathbb{N},$ is generated by $N$ periodically occurring distributions and the integer-valued and non-negative random variables $Z_1,\,Z_2,\,\ldots$ are independent.
