Hybrid Encryption Algorithm Based on Gray Curve and Josephus Permutation. [PDF]

open access: yesComput Intell Neurosci, 2022
This paper proposes a new image encryption algorithm based on chaos map systems, hash algorithm, and Josephus permutation. The algorithm consists of chaos initialization, pixel position permutation, and pixel information diffusion. The algorithm’s initialization is generated by the original image, which has a high sensitivity to the initial value.

Hypercapnia from Physiology to Practice. [PDF]

open access: yesInt J Clin Pract, 2022
Acute hypercapnic ventilatory failure is becoming more frequent in critically ill patients. Hypercapnia is the elevation in the partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2) above 45 mmHg in the bloodstream. The pathophysiological mechanisms of hypercapnia include the decrease in minute volume, an increase in dead space, or an increase in carbon dioxide ...

The Aqueducts and Water Supply of Ancient Jerusalem. [PDF]

open access: yesGround Water
Abstract Jerusalem, a city held sacred by three of the world's great religions, is located in a semi‐arid climate, and its occupation through the millennia has only been made possible by the construction of an extensive and ingenious water supply infrastructure. The settlement of Jerusalem was first made possible by water from the Gihon Spring.

Mechanical insufflation‐exsufflation for invasively ventilated critically ill patients—A focus group study

open access: yesNursing in Critical Care, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 923-930, November 2023., 2023
Abstract Introduction Mechanical Insufflation‐Exsufflation (MI‐E) is used as an airway clearance intervention in primary care (home ventilation), long‐term care (prolonged rehabilitation after intensive care, neuromuscular diseases, and spinal cord injury), and increasingly in acute care in intensive care units (ICU).

Experimental Study on the Mechanism of Pinching in Cold‐Rolling Processes

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 93, Issue 8, August 2022., 2022
Herein, the occurrence of “pinching” defects during the rolling of metal sheets is investigated. It is shown that disruptions in the lubrication state may be a source of shape defects (waviness), which develop as pinches, that appear as a wavy pattern, often accompanied by local cracks.

Periodic characteristics of the Josephus ring and its application in image scrambling

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2018
This paper proposes a new image scrambling algorithm based on the periodic characteristics of the Josephus ring. The algorithm composes the pretreatment part of the entire image encryption system and scrambles the rows and columns of the plain image. The
