Rotor Dynamic Behaviour of Electro-Rheological Lubricant Operated Multi-Lobe Journal Bearings

open access: yesTribology Online
An Electro-rheological (ER) fluid comprises dielectric particles blended in a non-conducting oil. The ER lubricants are commonly known as smart lubricants.

Changes of instability thresholds of rotor due to bearing misalignments [PDF]

open access: yes
The influence of bearing misalignment upon the dynamic characteristics of statistically indeterminant rotor bearing systems is investigated. Both bearing loads and stability speed limits of a rotor may be changed significantly by magnitude and direction ...

Disruption of the SNRPF–DDX24–E2F4 Feedback Loop Uncouples Splicing and Transcriptional Regulation to Suppress Ovarian Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies SNRPF as a critical oncogenic driver in ovarian cancer. By regulating a self‐sustaining SNRPF–DDX24–E2F4 feedback loop through intron retention and nonsense‐mediated decay, SNRPF couples RNA splicing with transcriptional regulation to promote tumor progression.

CFD Investigation of Influences of Reverse Textures on Bearing Surface of a Journal Bearing

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2014
It has always been the subject of interest and research to find out most efficient method to minimize the frictional loss of any mating surface in any mechanism. But it has been identified that only improvement of lubricating material cannot help much.

Integrating Radiomics and Computational Pathology to Predict Early Recurrence of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma and Uncover Its Biological Basis in Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Accurate prediction of early recurrence in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is vital for optimizing treatment. A novel, integrated radiomics‐pathology machine learning model successfully forecasts recurrence risks by analyzing preoperative CT images and computational pathology.

Palatable‐Food–Driven Top‐Down Circuit Inhibits PVNCRF Activity to Mitigate Stress Via Peri‐PVNCRFR1 Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Palatable food alleviates stress and prevents anxiety. This study uncovers a dedicated neural pathway: dopamine release in the PFC activates D1R neurons, whose projections to the peri‐PVN engage a population of anxiolytic CRFR1 neurons. These neurons then inhibit stress‐induced hyperactivity of PVNCRF neurons, providing a circuit‐level explanation for ...

Stabilization of aerodynamically excited turbomachinery with hydrodynamic journal bearings and supports [PDF]

open access: yes
A method of analyzing the first mode stability and unbalance response of multimass flexible rotors is presented whereby the multimass system is modeled as an equivalent single mass modal model including the effects of rotor flexibility, general ...
