Spatially Enhanced Electrostatic Doping in Graphene Realized via Heterointerfacial Precipitated Metals

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The schematic shows graphene on a spatially Ga‐implanted diamond‐like carbon (DLC) film, where graphene precipitation from DLC modifies its work function. The low energy electron microscopy map highlights lower work function in implanted regions. The nano‐ARPES map shows sharp doping contrast. Density Functional Theory reveals peak electron doping when

Utilization of Non‐Metallic Inclusion to Induce Intragranular Acicular Ferrite Formation Contributing to “Oxide Metallurgy”: Effect of Ti/Al Content on the Microstructure Evolution

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Fine size inclusion can serve as the effective nucleation site to induce the formation of optimal microstructure, i.e. intragranular acicular ferrite (IAF). Here, the low‐alloy steels with different amounts of Ti and Al contents are prepared, and the inclusion characteristics are quantitatively investigated.

Environmental transcriptomics under heat stress: Can environmental RNA reveal changes in gene expression of aquatic organisms?

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract To safeguard biodiversity in a changing climate, taxonomic information about species turnover and insights into the health of organisms are required. Environmental DNA approaches are increasingly used for species identification, but cannot provide functional insights.

On the Role of Tramp Elements for Surface Defect Formation in Continuous Casting of Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The transformation toward steel production with an increased proportion of electric steel production requires processing of low‐grade scrap to produce higher‐quality steel grades. This study investigates the effect of tramp elements on the surface defection formation of steel in the continuous casting process.

Investigation on Crystallization of CaO‐Al2O3‐B2O3‐BaO Slag Using Differential Scanning Calorimeter and In Situ High‐Temperature Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The crystallization of CaO‐Al2O3‐B2O3‐BaO glassy slags was investigated by multiple research techniques. The partial replacement of calcium oxide by barium oxide inhibits the crystallization ability of slag, which contributes to the development of “nonreactive” mold fluxes for high‐aluminum advanced steel continuous casting.
