2019Background and Aim: Periodontitis is a disease causing destruction of the periodontal connective tissue and bone supporting the teeth. Presence of the JP2 genotype of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (Aa) in periodontal pockets is associated with a high risk of development of periodontitis in adolescents.
