Juglone induces GSDME axis pyroptosis in osteosarcoma cells via the JNK/P38 MAPK pathway [PDF]
The MAPK signaling pathway plays a considerable role in cancer inhibition, and pyroptosis is a type of programmed cell death (PCD); thus, it is essential for cellular activity and cancer progression.

Degradation of juglone by Pleurotus sajor-caju
The toxic naphthoquinone juglone (5-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone) is efficiently degraded by the ligninolytic fungus Pleurotus sajor-caju, as demonstrated by the total bleaching within 9 d of a conventional liquid culture medium supplemented with 0.6 mM juglone.

Synthesis of Juglone and its Derivatives
Juglone (1), plumbagin (2) and isoplumbagin (3) were synthesized from the natural product 4,8-dihydroxy naphthol-β-D-glucoside (4) which existed large amount in barks of Juglans mandshurica. Juglone was achieved directly by deglycosylation catalyzing with CAS in 78 % yield.
