Singularities of the biextension metric for families of abelian varieties [PDF]
In this paper we study the singularities of the invariant metric of the Poincar\'e bundle over a family of abelian varieties and their duals over a base of arbitrary dimension. As an application of this study we prove the effectiveness of the height jump

A Biologically Inspired Height-Adjustable Jumping Robot [PDF]
This paper presents the design and development of a miniature integrated jumping and running robot that can adjust its route trajectory and has passive self-righting. The jumping mechanism of the robot was developed by using a novel design strategy that combines hard-bodied animal (springtail) and soft-bodied animal (gall midge larvae) locomotion.

Effects of Equal Volume But Different Plyometric Jump Training Intensities on Components of Physical Fitness in Physically Active Young Males [PDF]
An 8-week single-blind randomized controlled trial was conducted to compare the effects of separate programs of equal volume, but different intensity, plyometric jump training (PJT), on physical fitness in healthy adults.

Factors of influence on performance of countermovement jump [PDF]
Countermovement jump is an exercise that develops leg muscle power, the efficiency of using the stretch-shortening cycle, and the jump height. Numerous factors influence countermovement jump height.

Do stiffness and asymmetries predict change of direction performance? [PDF]
Change of direction speed (CODS) underpins performance in a wide range of sports but little is known about how stiffness and asymmetries affect CODS.

A Correction Equation for Jump Height Measured Using the Just Jump System [PDF]
Purpose:To determine the concurrent validity and reliability of the popular Just Jump system (JJS) for determining jump height and, if necessary, provide a correction equation for future reference. Methods:Eighteen male college athletes performed 3 bilateral countermovement jumps (CMJs) on 2 JJSs (alternative method) that were placed on top of a force ...

Positivity of the Height Jump Divisor
We study the degeneration of semipositive smooth hermitian line bundles on open complex manifolds, assuming that the metric extends well away from a codimension two analytic subset of the boundary. Using terminology introduced by R. Hain, we show that under these assumptions the so-called height jump divisors are always effective.

The effect of two types of ankle orthoses on the repetitive rebound jump performance
Background Ankle orthotics decreases the maximal vertical jump height. It is essential to maximize jump height and minimize ground contact time during athletic performance.
