Reflected Diffusion Processes with Jumps

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1985
In this paper, the authors study the question of building solutions of stochastic differential equations with reflecting boundary conditions, corresponding to reflected diffusion processes with jumps. To do so, they adapt to the case of jump processes the penalty argument used by many authors.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Poincaré-Type Inequalities for Compact Degenerate Pure Jump Markov Processes

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
We aim to prove Poincaré inequalities for a class of pure jump Markov processes inspired by the model introduced by Galves and Löcherbach to describe the behavior of interacting brain neurons.

Modeling of Rapidly Changing Macroeconomic Processes Based on the Analysis of Jump and Generalized Functions

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In recent years, the economies of many countries around the world have been in a situation of intense, rapidly changing, abrupt processes. The current situation urgently requires a change in the economic paradigm in the near future, which leads to the ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Proficiency Barrier in Track and Field: Adaptation and Generalization Processes

open access: yesSensors
The literature on motor development and training assumes a hierarchy for learning skills—learning the “fundamentals”—that has yet to be empirically demonstrated. The present study addressed this issue by verifying (1) whether this strong hierarchy (i.e.,

Multifractal Analysis of Infinite Products of Stationary Jump Processes

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2010
There has been a growing interest in constructing stationary measures with known multifractal properties. In an earlier paper, the authors introduced the multifractal products of stochastic processes (MPSP) and provided basic properties concerning ...

Optimal Portfolio Selection in an Itô–Markov Additive Market

open access: yesRisks, 2019
We study a portfolio selection problem in a continuous-time Itô–Markov additive market with prices of financial assets described by Markov additive processes that combine Lévy processes and regime switching models.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Reliability Analysis Based on a Jump Diffusion Model with Two Wiener Processes for Cloud Computing with Big Data

open access: yesEntropy, 2015
At present, many cloud services are managed by using open source software, such as OpenStack and Eucalyptus, because of the unification management of data, cost reduction, quick delivery and work savings.
