Inferring the Phylogeny of the Lejeuneaceae (Jungermanniopsida): A First Appraisal of Molecular Data

The Bryologist, 2003
Abstract Genetic and tribal relationships within the hepatic family Lejeuneaceae are problematic. We studied the phylogeny of the family using sequence data from three genomic regions: 1) the internal transcribed spacer 2 sequence between the nuclear genes encoding 26S and 5.8S ribosomal RNA, 2) partial sequences of the chloroplast genes trnL and trnF ...

Chapter Fourteen: Mnioloma (Calypogeiaceae: Jungermanniopsida) in Australasia: how many species are there

Fieldiana Botany, 2008
Abstract We recognize three species of Mnioloma for Australasia. Mnioloma novaezelandiae J.J.Engel is known only from New Zealand. The plants upon which the Australian record of M. novaezelandiae was based are referred to Mnioloma cf. fuscum (Lehm.) R. M.

Validation of Plagiochila fracta nomen nudum (Jungermanniopsida). East African bryophytes XXXI.

Phytotaxa, 2015
The nomen nudum Plagiochila fracta Pócs was used for a species collected by Patricia Geissler during March of 1999 in Madagascar. The name was used in three publications, but was never properly and validly described. The aim of this paper is to provide a full description to this peculiar species, which seems to be endemic to the north-western region of

Reinstatement of Plagiochila sect. Abietinae (Plagiochilaceae, Jungermanniopsida)

Cryptogamie, Bryologie, 2016
The classification of the speciose leafy liverwort genus Plagiochila into species and sections is still in a preliminary state. Based on phylogenetic analyses of a dataset comprising nuclear ITS and chloroplast rps4 and rbcL sequences, we reject an earlier proposed synonymy of the Asian-Australasian Plagiochila sect.

Frullania larjiana(Jungermanniopsida: Frullaniaceae), a new species from India

Journal of Bryology, 2005
Abstract Frullania larjiana Sushil K. Singh & Singh is described as a new species from the Western Himalaya, India. The species is characterized by ovate-suborbicular leaf lobes that are truncate at their antical bases; uniformly lanceolate–explanate lobules, 0.15−0.17 × 0.0−0.09 mm with a vestigial stylus 1–2 cells long; small underleaves, 0.16−0.3 ...

Contributions to the bryoflora of Australia, III. The genus nowellia mitt. (cephaloziaceae, jungermanniopsida)

2012
The liverwort genus Nowellia Mitt. was previously unknown from the Australian continent. During a collecting trip by the authors in June of 2001 throughout northern Queensland, two species were found, the Laurasian Nowellia curvifolia (Dicks.) Mitt. from the cloud forest of Bellenden Kerr summit and the Malesian-Australasian Nowellia langii Pears. from
