Kurzia brasiliensis is new to Colombia compared to the two taxa hitherto known from here (Kurzia capillaris and Kurzia flagellifera). Kurzia capillaris ssp. paramicola is described, as new to science. The latter is distinct in having erect leaves adherent to the stem with leaf segments composed mostly of two rows of cells.
