Coupled evolutions of the stellar obliquity, orbital distance, and planet's radius due to the Ohmic dissipation induced in a diamagnetic hot Jupiter around a magnetic T Tauri star

open access: yes, 2012
We revisit the calculation of the Ohmic dissipation in a hot Jupiter presented in Laine et al. (2008) by considering more realistic interior structures, stellar obliquity, and the resulting orbital evolution.

Novel Bioconjugate Materials: Synthesis, Characterization and Medical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review discusses the bioconjugation of novel materials grouped under “biological”, “hybrid” and “synthetic” categories. Medical applications ranging from cancer therapy and diagnostics to optogenetics and tissue engineering are explored, and conjugation trends are highlighted as a general guide. The review concludes with a comparison of techniques

Using Moment of Inertia and Observable Planetary Features to Approximate the Two-Layer Structure of Earth, Jupiter, and Neptune

open access: yesUndergraduate Journal of Mathematical Modeling: One + Two, 2019
This paper examines the interior structure and composition of Earth, Jupiter, and Neptune by using moment of inertia (MoI) and observable planetary features to create approximate two-layer interior structure models. The moment inertia of a uniform sphere,

Three-dimensional modeling of lightning-induced electromagnetic pulses on Venus, Jupiter and Saturn

open access: yes, 2018
While lightning activity in Venus is still controversial, its existence in Jupiter and Saturn was first detected by the Voyager missions and later on confirmed by Cassini and New Horizons optical recordings in the case of Jupiter, and recently by Cassini

SUPERCONDUCTIVITY OF JUPITER ?

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1969
It has been suggested by Ashcroft that, if solid hydrogen has a metallic phase (under a pressure > 1 megabar), such a phase could be a supraconductor with very high critical temperature. Orders of magnitude for its supraconductive properties (Tc, Hc, k, etc...) are considered in relation with the physical conditions in the planet Jupiter.

Photoactivated Proximity Protein Labeling Reveals Enhanced Tumor Retention of a D‐Peptide‐Ruthenium Prodrug Conjugate

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Six stereoisomeric ruthenium‐peptide conjugates were synthesized and characterized, which showed high potential in photoactivated chemotherapy (PACT) and proximity protein labeling. Abstract Amino acid chirality is known to influence the biological properties of peptide‐containing prodrugs.

Rapid Formation of Saturn after Jupiter Completion

open access: yes, 2012
We have investigated Saturn's core formation at a radial pressure maximum in a protoplanetary disk, which is created by gap opening by Jupiter. A core formed via planetesimal accretion induces the fragmentation of surrounding planetesimals, which ...

Harnessing Next‐Generation 3D Cancer Models to Elucidate Tumor‐Microbiome Crosstalk

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Centralizes the microbiome within 3D tumor‐microbiome model platforms, including spheroids, organoids, 3D‐bioprinted constructs, and microfluidic chips, each enabling structured host‐tumor‐microbe studies. These systems support bacterial colonization, facilitating investigation of microbial impacts on tumor growth, immunity, and therapy. The microbiome

The role of climate and population change in global flood exposure and vulnerability

open access: yesNature Communications
Flooding is a pervasive natural hazard with wide-ranging impacts on society. Using a high-resolution global flood model considering coastal, fluvial, and pluvial hazards, we clarify the role of climate effects versus population growth effects in changing

Probing the Protosolar Disk Using Dust Filtering at Gaps in the Early Solar System

open access: yes, 2019
Jupiter and Saturn formed early, before the gas disk dispersed. The presence of gap-opening planets affects the dynamics of the gas and embedded solids and halts the inward drift of grains above a certain size.
