Study of the phylogenetic relationships in Satanoperca Günther, 1862 (Perciformes: Cichlidae).
A hypothesis of the phylogenetic relationships among the species in Satanoperca is presented, based in 121 morphological characters, several described for the first time.

The ultrastructural features of the sperm were studied in the hermaphroditic teleost Satanoperca jurupari HECKEL, 1840 from Amazon River. Spermatocytes, spermatids and sperm develop in the testicular cysts among the different oocyte stages.
