Spatiotemporal Variability in the Vertical Distribution of Phytoplankton Biomass in the Ice‐Free Southern Ocean: A Bioregionalization Approach

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract The Southern Ocean plays a major role in the global oceanic sink of carbon dioxide (CO2). However, substantial uncertainties remain regarding how phytoplankton production influences this carbon sink. Observations of the spatiotemporal variability in vertical phytoplankton biomass distribution are therefore essential to advance our ...

In Situ Carbonation of Sedimentary and Igneous Rocks of Ultramafic Composition in Jezero Crater, Mars

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Over 3.5 years of exploration in Jezero Crater, the Perseverance rover has explored several geological units of diverse origins and natures, performing multi‐technique remote analyses of the chemistry and mineralogy of rocks with the SuperCam instrument suite.

La ville négociée : les homosexuel(le)s dans l'espace public parisien [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
International audienceThe city is a privileged space of sexual liberation. For a few decades, this gives to homosexuality a right to the visibility. Public space, as a meeting scene with otherness, questions very pertinently this right to the city for ...

Amapari Marker Band Metal‐Enrichments: Potential Mechanisms and Implications for Surface and Subsurface Water and Weathering in Gale Crater

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract NASA's Curiosity rover is exploring a 5 km tall sedimentary mound that is hypothesized to record the transition from a warm and wet (phyllosilicate‐rich) to a cold and drier (sulfate‐rich) Mars. Evidence of magnesium sulfate‐bearing rock has shown that Curiosity has crossed through this phyllosilicate‐sulfate transition.

Superposed Epoch Analysis of Extreme Geomagnetic Disturbances at Auroral Zone Latitudes Over a Solar Cycle

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Intense and rapidly changing electrical currents in near‐Earth space produce geomagnetic disturbances (GMDs) with large magnetic field rates of change (dB/dt) and in turn large geomagnetically induced currents (GICs) in nearby power lines and pipelines. This study builds on the work of Engebretson, Yang, et al.

Non‐innocent solvents in meteorite extractions: Evidence for artifact formation

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 4, Page 706-719, April 2026.
Abstract Solvent extraction is a cornerstone of meteoritic organic and inorganic chemistry, yet the assumption that common solvents act as chemically inert media is becoming increasingly untenable. This study reports that low‐molecular‐weight alcohols, particularly methanol and ethanol, are “non‐innocent” solvents when used to extract soluble sulfur ...
