Extent of asymmetry and unilaterality among juvenile onset primary open angle glaucoma patients.
Clinical & experimental ophthalmology, 2012Juvenile onset open angle glaucoma (JOAG) due to its rarity is not well characterized. We aimed to assess the extent of interocular asymmetry of baseline intraocular pressure (IOP), disc morphometry and visual field defects at presentation in patients with primary JOAG.

Primary congenital glaucoma is an uncommon autosomal recessive condition that results from a developmental defect in the trabecular meshwork and anterior chamber angle, manifesting in the neonatal or infantile period with increased intraocular pressure, corneal enlargement and edema, and optic nerve cupping with consequent loss of vision.

Novel TIGR/MYOC mutations in families with juvenile onset primary open angle glaucoma
2019Mutations in the trabecular meshwork induced glucocorticoid response protein (TIGR) or myocilin (MYOC) has recently been shown to cause juvenile onset primary open angle glaucoma (JOAG). In this study, we identified two new mutations (Asp380Ala and Ser502Pro) in two British families and another (Pro370Leu) in a French-Canadian family.

Juvenile onset primary open-angle glaucoma: three case studies and review.
Journal of the American Optometric Association, 1999Common clinical characteristics of juvenile onset primary open-angle glaucoma (JPOAG) include increased intraocular pressure, optic nervehead damage, visual-field loss, and a normal-appearing iridocorneal angle by gonioscopy. Histologic analysis of the angle structures may show varying developmental abnormalities that are observed to be less obvious as
