Southern Medical Journal, 1976Pauciarticular juvenile arthritis begins insidiously, involves no more than five joints, causes few systemic symptoms, and has a relatively mild course. The disease may recur at the same site or in previously uninvolved joints. It generally runs its course in four years.

Treatment of Juvenile Arthritis
Hospital Practice, 1983Aspirin remains the cornerstone of treatment for juvenile arthritis, although tolmetin may be more effective in controlling the fever of systemic-onset disease. Tolmetin and naproxen appear to be more effective in HLA-B27 positive males with pauciarticular disease.
