Congenital, Infantile, and Juvenile Glaucoma
Ophthalmology, 1979The appearance of the anterior chamber angle shows considerable variation in eyes with glaucoma caused by congenital or developmental causes. These differences, in over 100 eyes studied, correlate well with the effectiveness of trabeculotomy in controlling the intraocular pressure.

A Finnish family is presented in which a mother and six of her eight children and one grandchild have juvenile glaucoma. The inheritance appears to be autosomally dominant with complete penetrance. The symptoms appeared at the age of 11 to 23 years with visual disturbances, coloured rings or headache. The initial IOP ranged between 36 to 81 mm Hg.

Goniotomy for Juvenile Open-Angle Glaucoma
Journal of Glaucoma, 2010To report the surgical results of goniotomy surgery for patients with acquired juvenile open-angle glaucoma (JOAG).The medical records of 10 patients with bilateral acquired JOAG were reviewed to learn the results of goniotomy for their glaucoma. Twenty goniotomy procedures were performed for 17 eyes.
