Diffusion‐Weighted Imaging for the Evaluation of the Sacroiliac Joint in Pediatric Patients
Objective Maturational signal in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) of skeletally immature youth is often misinterpreted as inflammation. Diagnostic tools that improve specificity are greatly needed. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), when used with standard imaging, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.

A simplified method for synthesizing juvenile hormone-protein conjugates.
A convenient and simple method is presented for the synthesis of juvenile hormone-thyroglobulin conjugates. Methods previously described for this hapten linkage have used a two-step process in which a reactive intermediate was isolated and then used for ...

Insect molting hormone (ecdysteroids) and juvenile hormone regulate molting and metamorphic events in a variety of insect species. Mealybugs undergo sexually dimorphic metamorphosis: males develop into winged adults through non-feeding, pupa-like stages ...

Endocrine modulation of primary chemosensory neurons regulates Drosophila courtship behavior.
The decision to engage in courtship depends on external cues from potential mates and internal cues related to maturation, health, and experience. Hormones allow for coordinated conveyance of such information to peripheral tissues.

Structure-based analysis of the ultraspiracle protein and docking studies of putative ligands [PDF]
The ultraspiracle protein (USP) is the insect ortholog of the mammalian retinoid X receptor (RXR). Fundamental questions concern the functional role of USP as the heterodimerization partner of insect nuclear receptors such as the ecdysone receptor.

Plant responses to photoperiod [PDF]
Photoperiod controls many developmental responses in animals, plants and even fungi. The response to photoperiod has evolved because daylength is a reliable indicator of the time of year, enabling developmental events to be scheduled to coincide with ...

Purified and specific cytoplasmic pollen extract: a non-hormonal alternative for the treatment of menopausal symptoms. [PDF]
Research into non-hormonal, alternative therapies is necessary for women for whom menopausal hormone therapy is contraindicated or for women who do not wish to take hormones.

A Statistical Mechanics Model to Decode Tissue Crosstalk During Graft Formation
We introduce a statistical mechanics framework to decode the genomic crosstalk governing plant grafting. By integrating evolutionary game theory with transcriptomics, we reconstruct idopNetworks (informative, dynamic, omnidirectional, and personalized networks) that map scion–rootstock interactions.

Juvenile hormones prevent molting and metamorphosis in the juvenile stages of insects. There are multiple genes encoding a conserved juvenile hormone binding protein (JHBP) domain in a single insect species.

ABSTRACT Aim Spigelman stage IV duodenal polyposis (SP‐stage IV DP) is associated with high duodenal cancer risk in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). This study evaluated the surgical and oncological outcomes of pancreas‐sparing total duodenectomy (PSTD) as a surgical prophylaxis for severe duodenal polyposis in FAP.
