Assessing the Influence of Interference Competition on Ecologically Similar Species Threatened by Habitat Loss 评估干扰性竞争对受栖息地丧失威胁的生态相似物种的影响

Drone‐based radiotelemetry and imagery systems provide an advantage over traditional techniques for estimating survival of dependent juveniles

We used drone‐based radiotelemetry and multispectral imagery to estimate detection and survival probabilities of blue‐winged teal broods in Saskatchewan, Canada. Weekly brood survival probabilities, estimated via Cormack‐Jolly‐Seber models, increased with age and were comparable between drone methods.

Radiographic Screening of Wild and Semi‐Wild Cape Ground Squirrels (Geosciurus inauris) for the Presence of Peri‐Apical Masses Associated With Elodont Incisor Teeth

Peri‐apical masses were absent in both wild and semi‐wild Cape ground squirrels, despite dietary differences and minor incisor trauma. These findings suggest such lesions are rare outside captivity and not induced by low‐fiber diets alone, adding to the literature on environmental and dietary risk factors in elodont tooth pathology.
