Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Topological origin of quasi-flat edge band in phosphorene

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
Phosphorene, a honeycomb structure of black phosphorus, was isolated recently. The band structure is highly anisotropic, where the k _x direction is Dirac-like and the k _y direction is Schrödinger-like.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Band Alignment and Optical Properties of (ZrO2)0.66(HfO2)0.34 Gate Dielectrics Thin Films on p-Si (100)

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical and Fundamental Sciences, 2013
(ZrO2)0.66(HfO2)0.34 dielectric films on p-Si (100) were grown by atomic layer deposition method, for which the conduction band offsets, valence band offsets and band gaps were obtained by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and reflection electron ...

A S/K/Ka Triple-Band Shared-Aperture Antenna Hybridizing Monopole Array and Transmitarray

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
This paper presents a triple-band shared-aperture antenna operating in the S-, K-, and Ka-bands. The antenna is based on a modified transmitarray antenna (TA) where a $2\times 2$ monopole array (MA) is integrated into its transmitting surface (TS).

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

A Comparison of Passive Microwave Emission Models for Estimating Brightness Temperature at L- and P-Bands Under Bare and Vegetated Soil Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
P-band radiometry has been demonstrated to have a deeper sensing depth than L-band, making the consideration of multilayer microwave interactions necessary. In addition, the scattering and phase interference effects are different at the P-band, requiring

High K bands in mid-supershell nuclei

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica B : Elementary Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, Statistical Physics, Theory of Relativity, Field Theory, 2002
The spectrum of prompt conversion electrons emitted by excited 254No nuclei has been measured, revealing discrete lines arising from transitions within the ground state band. A striking feature is a broad distribution that peaks near 100 keV and comprises high multiplicity electron cascades, probably originating from M1 transitions within rotational ...
