A New Nearest Centroid Neighbor Classifier Based on K Local Means Using Harmonic Mean Distance

open access: yesInformation, 2018
The K-nearest neighbour classifier is very effective and simple non-parametric technique in pattern classification; however, it only considers the distance closeness, but not the geometricalplacement of the k neighbors.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Sistem Pakar Penyakit Liver Menggunakan K- Nearest Neighbors Algoritm Berbasis Website

open access: yesIlkom Jurnal Ilmiah, 2018
The liver is largest organ for humans, functioning as formation and secretion of bile, and as detoxification of toxins. Liver disease difficult to detect at early stage, but treatment of Liver disease in early stages will greatly help patient's recovery.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Ab initio study of the volume dependence of dynamical and thermodynamical properties of silicon

open access: yes, 1995
Motivated by the negative thermal expansion observed for silicon between 20 K and 120 K, we present first an ab initio study of the volume dependence of interatomic force constants, phonon frequencies of TA(X) and TA(L) modes, and of the associated mode ...

Kinetic Reverse k-Nearest Neighbor Problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper provides the first solution to the kinetic reverse $k$-nearest neighbor (\rknn) problem in $\mathbb{R}^d$, which is defined as follows: Given a set $P$ of $n$ moving points in arbitrary but fixed dimension $d$, an integer $k$, and a query point $q\notin P$ at any time $t$, report all the points $p\in P$ for which $q$ is one of the $k ...
