Redesign of Translocon EXP2 Nanopore for Detecting Peptide Fragments

Nanopore sensing using the EXP2 nanopore from Plasmodium falciparum is enhanced by engineering mutants to reduce electrical noise and improve peptide detection. The EXP2ΔD231 mutant showed over 50% noise reduction and successfully discriminated diverse peptides, highlighting its potential for protein sequencing.
