Kaon Physics at KLOE/KLOE-2: recent results

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
The results of the most recent analyses using kaon data collected by the KLOE experiment at the Frascati ϕ-factory, DAΦNE, are presented: a new improved measurement of BR(K+ → π+π−π+(γ)), a new improved search of the rare CP violating decay KS → 3π0, and

Kaon Experiments

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical and Experimental Physics
Abstract After $CP$ violation was discovered in the $K_L \rightarrow \pi ^+ \pi ^-$ decay, many theories were proposed to explain it, and the Kobayashi–Maskawa model and the Superweak model lasted for many years as strong candidates. High-precision kaon experiments with many new techniques and improvements rejected the Superweak model ...

Beyond the Standard Model prospects for kaon physics at future experiments

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Rare kaon decays offer a powerful tool for investigating new physics in s → d transitions. Currently, many of the interesting decay modes are either measured with rather large uncertainties compared to their theoretical predictions or have not yet been ...

Low-energy anti-kaon nucleon and nucleus interaction

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2010
Central importance for the physics of strong interaction has the dynamics driven by chiral symmetry breaking in low-energy QCD. Valuable information is provided by high precision x-ray studies of the strong interaction at threshold.

CP violation in K → μ + μ − with and without time dependence through a tagged analysis

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We point out that using current knowledge of B K L 0 → μ + μ − $$ \mathcal{B}\left({K}_L^0\to {\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right) $$ and B K L 0 → γγ $$ \mathcal{B}\left({K}_L^0\to \gamma \gamma \right) $$ , one can extract short-distance information from the ...

Investigating nonflow contribution on elliptic flow in p-Pb collisions with the AMPT model

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
This study investigates the subtraction of nonflow contributions in heavy-ion collisions using the multiphase transport (AMPT) model, focusing on unidentified charged trigger particles and various species of charged associated particles, including pions,

Strange Particle Production in pp Collisions at sqrt(s) = 0.9 and 7 TeV measured with the ALICE Experiment

open access: yes, 2011
Hadrons measured in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 0.9 and 7 TeV with the ALICE detector have been identified using various techniques: the specific energy loss and the time-of flight information for charged pions, kaons and protons, the displaced

CPT tests: kaon vs. neutrinos

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2004
CPT violation has an impressive limit in the neutral kaon system |m(K^0) - m(\bar{K}^0)| < 10^{-18} m_K = 0.50 \times 10^{-18} GeV. However, if viewed as a constraint on the mass-squared, the bound appears weak, |m^2(K^0) - m^2(\bar{K}^0)| < 0.25 eV^2. We point out that neutrino oscillation offers better limits on CPT violation in this case.
