Influence of statistical fluctuations on $K/\pi$ ratios in relativistic heavy ion collisions

open access: yes, 2001
The influence of pure statistical fluctuations on $K/\pi$ ratio is investigated in an event-by-event way. Poisson and the modified negative binomial distributions are used as the multiplicity distributions since they both have statistical background.

K− over K+ multiplicity ratio for kaons produced in DIS with a large fraction of the virtual-photon energy

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
The K− over K+ multiplicity ratio is measured in deep-inelastic scattering, for the first time for kaons carrying a large fraction z of the virtual-photon energy.

Study of the Decoherence of Entangled Kaons by the Interaction with Thermal Photons

open access: yes, 2010
The KLOE-2 detector is a powerful tool to study the temporal evolution of quantum entangled pairs of kaons. The accuracy of such studies may in principle be limited by the interaction of neutral kaons with thermal photons present inside the detector ...

COMPASS results on Collins and Sivers asymmetries for charged hadrons

open access: yes, 2013
The study of transverse spin and transverse momentum effects is an important part of the scientific program of COMPASS, a fixed target experiment at the CERN SPS taking data since 2002. The studies are carried on by measuring the hadrons produced in deep

QCD tests with Kaons [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2014
Final results from an analysis of about 400 K± → π±γγ rare decay candidates collected by the NA48/2 and NA62 experiments at CERN are presented. The results include a model-independent decay rate measurement and fits to Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT) description. The data support the ChPT prediction for a cusp in the di-photon invariant mass spectrum

Kaon femtoscopy in Au+Au collisions at √SNN = 200 GeV at the STAR experiment

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
In this proceedings, the STAR preliminary results on femtoscopic correlations of identical kaons from Au+Au collisions at SNN =200 GeV are presented. The measured kaon source radii are studied as a function of collision energy as well as centrality and ...

Kaon Interferometry: A Sensitive Probe of the QCD Equation of State?

open access: yes, 2001
We calculate the kaon HBT radius parameters for high energy heavy ion collisions, assuming a first order phase transition from a thermalized Quark-Gluon-Plasma to a gas of hadrons.

High order flow harmonics of identified hadrons in 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions

open access: yes, 2016
Using iEBE-VISHNU hybrid model with the AMPT initial conditions, we study the higher order flow harmonics of identified hadrons in 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions.
