Characteristics of nonlinear dust acoustic waves in a Lorentzian dusty plasma with effect of adiabatic and nonadiabatic grain charge fluctuation

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
In this paper, characteristics of small amplitude nonlinear dust acoustic wave have been investigated in a unmagnetized, collisionless, Lorentzian dusty plasma where electrons and ions are inertialess and modeled by generalized Lorentzian Kappa ...

A theoretical study of the steady state of a space plasma [PDF]

open access: yes
An examination of Vlasov theory of a plasma led to the hypothesis that a plasma may reside in a state of minimal change of the uniform distribution.

Microfluidic Modeling of Macrophage‐Induced Cardiac Inflammation Using NF‐κB Reporter Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A cardiac inflammation model was developed to enable real‐time analysis of macrophage‐cardiomyocyte interactions using NF‐κB‐reporter cardiomyocytes and a microfluidic co‐culture system. A MATLAB‐based model was implemented to optimize cell density and medium resupply based on TNFα diffusion kinetics. Activation thresholds and stress responses in NF‐κB‐

Properties and Applications of A New Attractive Distribution

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA)
We provide a new, flexible model called the Odd Kappa-Exponential (OK-E) distribution. The shape of its hazard rate function (hrf) might be constant, declining, growing, inverted-J, bathtub, or inverted-bathtub. The probability density function (pdf) and

Designed Liquid Crystalline Nanoassemblies From Clinically Validated Polyunsaturated Lipids for Combined Antioxidant, Anti‐Apoptotic, and Neurotrophic Treatments

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Ionizable lipid nanoparticles target multiple pathological pathways in neurodegeneration. The designed self‐assembled materials undergo a pH‐triggered structural transformation from a cubosome/hexosome coexistence to a hexosome phase, enhancing intracellular delivery of a multi‐target phytochemical formulation. The antioxidant‐loaded pH‐responsive LNPs

Flare-accelerated Electrons in the Kappa Distribution from X-Ray Spectra with the Warm-target Model

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
X-ray observations provide important and valuable insights into the acceleration and propagation of nonthermal electrons during solar flares. Improved X-ray spectral analysis requires a deeper understanding of the dynamics of energetic electrons ...

Enhanced Endoscopic Internal Drainage of Gastric Abscess Through Additively Manufactured Stents

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Postoperative gastric leaks are often treated with off‐label biliary double‐pigtail stents, yet conventional extruded designs are not optimized for leak anatomy, can migrate, and may limit abscess evacuation. PETALS is introduced to optimize transmural drainage geometry and enable patient‐specific 3D‐printable stents.

Opinion: Gavage Administration of MXene as a Route‐Specific Alternative to Intravenous Injection into the Bloodstream of Laboratory Animals for Reducing Systemic Nanotoxicity Risks in Immunosuppression and Post‐Transplantation Models with Bile Acid Modification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Recent studies reported immunosuppressive properties of specific MXene nanomaterials. Their intravenous injection into the bloodstream of laboratory animals has been a common delivery method to suppress systemic inflammation and prevent transplant rejection.
