ABSTRACT The Orobanchaceae family, the largest group of parasitic plants, spans a complete spectrum from autotrophic to holoparasitic species. As a typical endangered holoparasitic species within this family, Cistanche deserticola is a parasitic plant that is widely harvested for traditional medicine in desertic regions, and of growing importance as a ...

Abstract figure legend Blebbistatin reduces Ca2+ buffering in induced pluripotent stem cell‐derived atrial cardiomyocytes. Blebbistatin, a widely used excitation–contraction uncoupling agent, decreases calcium (Ca2+) buffer affinity (increased buffer dissociation constant), leading to elevated diastolic Ca2+ levels, increased sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+

De Novo Heterozygous ZFX Frameshift Variant in a Female With an X‐Linked Neurodevelopmental Disorder
ABSTRACT Germline ZFX variants are associated with an X‐linked neurodevelopmental disorder, with 14 males and 16 females reported to date. We describe a 20‐year‐old female with a heterozygous ZFX frameshift variant, p.(Met666Valfs*2), identified by genome sequencing, previously reported in an affected male.

Karyotype evolution in cycads has been described in 113 species covering all the 10 genera. Cycads are a conservative group in this regard as the genera with low basic numbers i.e. Dioon, Macrozamia, Lepidozamia, Encephalartos, Bowenia (2n = 18) and Ceratozamia and Stangeria (2n = 16) have relatively symmetrical karyotypes while those with higher ...

The chromosome complements (karyotypes) of animals display a great diversity in number and morphology. Against this background, the genomes of all species are remarkably conserved, not only in transcribed sequences, but also in some chromosome-specific non-coding sequences and in gene order.
