The grasshopper species Orthoscapheus rufipes and Eujivarus fusiformis were analyzed using several cytogenetic techniques. The karyotype of O. rufipes, described here for the first time, had a diploid number of 2n = 23, whereas E.

Ants (Formicidae) present considerable diversity in chromosome numbers, which vary from n = 1 to n = 60, although this variation is not proportional to that in genome size, for which estimates range from 0.18 pg to 0.77 pg. Intraspecific variation in the

Karyotypes of european species of radix (Gastropoda: Pulmonata: Lymnaeidae) and their relevance to species distinction in the genus [PDF]
Karyotypes of Radix auricularia (Linnaeus, 1758) and three disputable taxa considered by different authors as distinct species or assigned as forms of Radix peregra (Muller, 1774), sensu lato - R. labiata (Rossmassler, 1835), R.

Isoetes ×atruensis hyb. nov. is shown to be a triploid (2n = 3× = 33 + 1) sterile interspecific hybrid between diploid (2n = 2× = 22 + 1) I. coromandelina and tetraploid (2n = 4× = 44 + 1) I. rajasthanensis. It has been found in two locations in Rajasthan, India.

Diagnosis and Management of Prenatal Hereditary Pyropoikilocytosis
ABSTRACT Hereditary pyropoikilocytosis (HPP) is a severe hemolytic anemia caused by variants in SPTA1, SPTB, and EPB41. These weaken horizontal interactions in the erythrocyte cytoskeleton, causing membrane fragmentation and splenic sequestration. It will readily cause fetal anemia and often hydrops fetalis. Prenatal diagnosis requires first ruling out

Karyotypes of two European species of the genus Lymnaea with disputable taxonomic status (Gastropoda: Pulmonata: Lymnaeidae) [PDF]
Karyotypes of Lymnaea corvus and L. occulta are studied for the first time and compared to the original data on Ukrainian populations of L. palustris and L. stagnalis.

Karyotype Analysis in Three Morphological Forms of Colocasia fallax Schott.
The 3 forms of Colocasia fallax Schott. complex, namely green petiole form, light purple petiole form and deep purple petiole form, available in Bangladesh were studied cytogenetically to confirm their taxonomic status after staining with orcein and CMA.

Moderate Diagnostic Yield of Exome Sequencing in Fetal Growth Restriction: Retrospective Insights
ABSTRACT Objective To determine whether invasive genetic testing should be systematically proposed in cases of FGR. Methods Descriptive retrospective study of 159 FGR cases (defined by an estimated fetal growth < 3rd percentile, regardless of Doppler findings) managed at the Toulouse Fetal Medicine Center (TFMC) during 2022–2023.

Shifts in Chromosome Evolution Rates Shape the Karyotype Patterns of Leafcutting Ants
Trait evolution has become a central focus in evolutionary biology, with phylogenetic comparative methods offering a framework to study how and why traits vary among species. Identifying variations in trait evolution rates within phylogenies is important
