Karyotype morphology and evolution in some Lathyrus (Fabaceae) species of southern Brazil
The karyotypes of Lathyrus nervosus Lam., L. pubescens Hook. et Arn., L. paranensis Burk. and L. crassipes Gill ap. Hook et Arn., native to Rio Grande do Sul (southern Brazil), are described in detail for the first time. All taxa have 2n = 14 chromosomes.

ABSTRACT Introduction The neurodevelopmental outcome of ‘Cystic’ malformations of the posterior fossa with marked opening of the fourth ventricle, such as Dandy Walker malformation (DWM) and large Blake's pouch cyst (BPC), is a major issue. This study aimed to refine relevant MRI criteria for distinguishing DWM from BPC and identify prognostic factors.

Karyotype evolution in progress: A new diploid number in Belostoma candidulum (Heteroptera: Belostomatidae) from Argentina leading to new insights into its ecology and evolution [PDF]
A novel chromosome complement (2n = 14 = 12 + XY/XX; male/female sex chromosomes), male meiosis behaviour, heterochromatin characterization, and frequency and distribution of chiasmata are described for the first time in specimens from a natural ...

ABSTRACT Objective Pre‐eclampsia (PE) and fetal growth restriction (FGR) have been shown to impact fetal cardiac remodeling in the third trimester and postnatally, with evidence to suggest that this leads to increased long‐term cardiovascular risk. This study aimed to examine fetal cardiac remodeling in pregnancies with PE and/or FGR during the second ...

For this report, we studied the conventional karyotype and the NOR-bearing chromosomes in the toadfish Halobatrachus didactylus. We found a karyotype of 46 chromosomes made up of 8 metacentric, 12 submetacentric, and 26 acrocentric elements (FN = 66). No

ABSTRACT Objective To investigate whether combining abnormal morphological features observed on ultrasound in live pregnancies that ended in a first‐trimester miscarriage can predict an abnormal karyotype. Methods This retrospective observational cohort study was conducted at the early‐pregnancy assessment unit at University College London Hospital ...

Chromosome mapping of dragline silk genes in the genomes of widow spiders (araneae, theridiidae) [PDF]
With its incredible strength and toughness, spider dragline silk is widely lauded for its impressive material properties. Dragline silk is composed of two structural proteins, MaSp1 and MaSp2, which are encoded by members of the spidroin gene family ...

ABSTRACT Background Delayed villous maturation (DVM) is a placental maturation disorder that mainly affects maternal‐to‐foetal oxygen transfer. Objectives We conducted a systematic review, meta‐analysis, and sensitivity analysis exploring study heterogeneities (I2) of risk factors and outcomes associated with histopathological findings of DVM.
