Morphological findings in malformed fetuses with normal karyotype

2012
In our Department morphological findings on fetuses from therapeutic interruption of pregnancy or spontaneous abortion are performed since ten years in order to correlate the ultrasound and/or chromosomic diagnosis with a real presence of malformations.

Placental morphology in spontaneous human abortuses with normal and abnormal karyotypes

Teratology, 1976
AbstractA systematic gross and microscopic study of the placenta was done on human spontaneous abortions, correlating placental morphology and karyotype of the conceptus. Consistent abnormalities were seen in the four major forms of human heteroploidy, so that a fairly accurate “karyotypic diagnosis” could be made from careful gross and microscopic ...

Karyotype in myelodysplastic syndromes: Relations to morphology, clinical evolution, and survival

American Journal of Hematology, 1994
AbstractOne hundred eighty‐eight unselected consecutive patients with “de novo” myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) were studied cytogenetically. They were subclassified as 4 refractory anemia with ringed sideroblasts (RARS), 67 refractory anemia (RA), 58 refractory anemia with excess of blasts (RAEB), 40 RAEB in transformation (RAEB‐t), and 19 chronic ...

Morphological and karyotypic characterization of intersex pigs with hernia inguinalis

The Journal of Agricultural Science, 2002
Three female pigs, one with bilateral and two with unilateral hernia inguinalis, from farms near Río Cuarto, Argentina were studied to assess the hypothesis of intersexuality due to porcine freemartinism. Karyotype analysis of lymphocyte cultures was carried out to look for XX/XY chromosome chimerism.

Morphological Features of Karyotypes of Parasitic Hymenoptera

2009
Results of karyotypic studies of more than 400 species of parasitic wasps are reviewed. The haploid chromosome number in the group can vary from 3 to 23. Data on the nuclear DNA show that the average DNA content per chromosome in the superfamily Chalcidoidea is at least four times more than that in the Ichneumonoidea.

Prognostic implications of karyotype and morphology in patients with non‐Hodgkin's lymphoma

International Journal of Cancer, 1983
AbstractClonal chromosome abnormalities were observed in 30 patients with non‐Hodgkin's lymphoma; the type of lymphoma was characterized on the basis of the International Working Formulation. The 30 patients were classified into five groups according to the chromosome abnormality.

Combined Morphologic and Karyotypic Study of 28 Myxoid Liposarcomas

The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1996
Cytogenetic analysis carried out in 28 adipose tissue tumors diagnosed microscopically as myxoid liposarcoma (ML) revealed a t(12;16)(q13:p11) chromosomal translocation in 26 of the 28 cases. Morphologically, these tumors were subclassified into the following categories: well-differentiated, six cases: poorly differentiated round cell type, 17 cases ...

Habitat, morphology and karyotype of the Saharan shrewCrocidura tarfayaensis (Mammalia: Soricidae)

Acta Theriologica, 2006
The Saharan shrewCrocidura tarfayaensis Vesmanis and Vesmanis, 1980, has a limited disribution along the Atlantic coast of Sahara, south of Agadir (Morocco) through Western Sahara into Mauritania and is only known from few captures and some owl pellets. Here we report field data from the successful trapping of five specimens ofC.

[Karyotype and pollen morphology of main Fritillaria thunbergii cultivars].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2014
To study the differences in pollen morphology and karyotype among main Fritillari thunbergii cultivars.Pollen morphologies of three F. thunbergii cultivars were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the chromosome numbers and karyotypes were studied by applying traditional squash technique. The pollen shape of F.

HUMAN CHROMOSOME MORPHOLOGY. I. STUDIES ON NORMAL CHROMOSOME CHARACTERIZATION, CLASSIFICATION AND KARYOTYPING

Canadian Journal of Genetics and Cytology, 1969
Chromosome measurements including relative total length, arm ratio and centromeric index of the human complement were presented. Based on these data the human complement was classified into metacentric, submetacentric, subtelocentric, and acrocentric chromosomes and arranged into a mammalian style karyotype.
