In our Department morphological findings on fetuses from therapeutic interruption of pregnancy or spontaneous abortion are performed since ten years in order to correlate the ultrasound and/or chromosomic diagnosis with a real presence of malformations.

Morphological and karyotypic characterization of intersex pigs with hernia inguinalis

Three female pigs, one with bilateral and two with unilateral hernia inguinalis, from farms near Río Cuarto, Argentina were studied to assess the hypothesis of intersexuality due to porcine freemartinism. Morphological Features of Karyotypes of Parasitic Hymenoptera

Results of karyotypic studies of more than 400 species of parasitic wasps are reviewed. The haploid chromosome number in the group can vary from 3 to 23. Data on the nuclear DNA show that the average DNA content per chromosome in the superfamily Chalcidoidea is at least four times more than that in the Ichneumonoidea.

Chromosome measurements including relative total length, arm ratio and centromeric index of the human complement were presented. Based on these data the human complement was classified into metacentric, submetacentric, subtelocentric, and acrocentric chromosomes and arranged into a mammalian style karyotype.
