This study demonstrates that the dual delivery of BMP‐2/‐7 coding cmRNAs for bone healing is demonstrated as feasible, safe, and highly osteogenic. Compared to single BMP‐2 or BMP‐7 cmRNAs, the combination enhances the production of both mineral and organic components of the extracellular matrix when delivered using a collagen‐HA scaffold, supporting ...

Health and Welfare in Dutch Organic Laying Hens [PDF]
From 2007–2008, data on animal health and welfare and farm management during rearing and laying periods were collected from 49 flocks of organic laying hens in the Netherlands. Our aim was to investigate how organic egg farms performed in terms of animal

This study introduces a novel multi‐scale scaffold design using L‐fractals arranged in Archimedean tessellations for tissue regeneration. Despite similar porosity, tiles display vastly different tensile responses (1–100 MPa) and deformation modes. In vitro experiments with hMSCs show geometry‐dependent growth and activity. Over 55 000 tile combinations

The Role of Surgical Hip Dislocation in the Treatment of Acetabular and Femoral Head Fractures [PDF]
: Background and Purpose: : Surgical hip dislocation by trochanteric flip osteotomy facilitates access to acetabular and femoral head fractures. Furthermore, it allows evaluation of cartilage damage and vascularity of the femoral head.

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

Keel fractures in the laying hen are the most critical animal welfare issue facing the egg production industry, particularly with the increased use of extensive systems in response to the 2012 EU directive banning conventional battery cages. The current study is aimed at assessing the effects of 2 omega-3 (n3) enhanced diets on bone health, production ...

Effect of Different Cage Densities and Age on Keel Bone Damage and Some Hormones in Laying Hens [PDF]
This study aimed to determine the effect of three distinct cage densities (750 cm2/hen, 535 cm2/hen, and 375 cm2/hen) on the keel bone damage of brown (Hyline Brown, HB) and white (Isa Tinted, IT) laying hens by x-ray method.

Biomechanical Analysis of Fixation and Bone
Long-term survivorship of a total knee replacement (TKR) relies on the strength of bone around the implant and its initial stability. Aseptic component loosening caused by mechanical factors is a recognised failure mode for knee prostheses.

Copper Contact for Perovskite Solar Cells: Properties, Interfaces, and Scalable Integration
Copper electrodes, as low‐cost, scalable contacts for perovskite solar cells, offer several advantages over precious metals such as Au and Ag, including performance, cost, deposition methods, and interfacial engineering. Copper (Cu) electrodes are increasingly considered practical, sustainable alternatives to noble‐metal contacts in perovskite solar ...
