Plant population effects on fiber hemp growth and yield in Southeastern United States
Abstract Fiber hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) has gained renewed interest in the United States as a bast fiber crop used in textiles, nonwovens, and composite materials. Region‐specific production practices are limited due to the crops relatively recent legal status.

This review consolidates insights from recent studies on the dynamic mechanical behavior and structural integrity of NFCs under conditions such as impact, fatigue, vibration, and strain‐rate effects. The review critically examines how fiber type, matrix selection, fiber‐matrix interface treatments, hybridization strategies, and environmental aging ...

Natural fiber‐reinforced, natural resin (NFR‐NR)–based biocomposites are a sustainable set of materials developed to offset the ecological and environmental consequences resulting from the use of man‐made composites. The biocomposites are reinforced with the vegetable fibers such as jute, flax, hemp, kenaf, and so on with biodegradable polymeric ...

Normal Pressure Pulping of Jute, Kenaf and Mesta Bast Fibers.
To develop a simple pulping technique for small scale papermaking, a combination of ammonium oxalate pretreatment and alkaline hydrogen peroxide treatment at normal pressure was examined for jute, kenaf and mesta bast fibers. The ammonium oxalate pretreatment seems sufficient to remove transition metal ions (Mn, Fe and Cu) and a part of Ca and Mg to ...

Natural fibers are gaining popularity as eco‐friendly and biodegradable reinforcements in polymer composites. This project is aimed at extracting and analyzing organic cellulose fibers from the barks of Microcos paniculata plants, employing a 9‐day water retting process followed by alkali treatment with 5% (w/w) NaOH.

Currently, a massive expanse of wastewater is generated and ejected directly into the environment owing to widespread industrialization, hasty fluctuating technologies, and excess demand of the overgrowing population. This could pollute the ground/surface water, ecosystem, and cause serious damage to public safety/security and ecological balance. Hence,

Physical Structure Characterization of High Viscosity Kenaf Bast Pulps
FT-IR, X線, CP/MAS 13 C ...

The use of natural fibre‐reinforced polymer composites as substitutes for synthetic fibre systems has increased due to interest in sustainable engineering materials. Because they are easily accessible, lightweight and renewable. Natural (plant/animal) fibres frequently exhibit the property of eco‐friendliness, renewability and biodegradability with ...

Effect of fiber extraction methods on some properties of kenaf bast fiber [PDF]
The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different extraction methods on the fiber morphology, density, chemical composition and tensile strength of kenaf bast fiber. Kena fbast fibers were extracted using different methods (crude, decorticated, water retted, 5% sodium hydroxide retted and 5% benzoate retted) and their ...
