Thermomechanical properties of the silanized-kenaf/polystyrene composites
In order to improve the poor interfacial adhesion of the kenaf fiber and polystyrene (PS) in their composite material, the surface of the kenaf fiber was modified using a synthesized polymeric coupling agent to promote adhesion with PS matrix.

Perforated Impact Strength of Woven Kenaf Fiber Reinforced Composites [PDF]
This present work investigated the perforated impact strength of woven kenaf fiber reinforced composites subjected to different projectile velocities. Three layers of woven kenaf mats were stacked with four different fiber orientations 0, 15, 30 and 450.

Enhanced impact strength in PLLA‐based composites via ε‐caprolactone incorporation in the matrix. ABSTRACT Inherent brittleness and limited toughness of polylactide (PLA) restrict its use in high‐performance applications. To overcome these limitations, poly(L‐lactide) (PLLA) is often blended with more ductile thermoplastics or chemically modified ...

Tensile Behaviour of Kenaf Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites
Natural fiber is usually used as reinforcement in polymeric materials, and short fibers are commonly used for non-structural applications. However, the lack of studies on long fiber reinforced polymeric materials, especially kenaf fiber, has limited its usage in Malaysia.

Composite of polyethylene and kenaf, a natural cellulose fiber [PDF]
It is shown that the composites with Kenaf fibers provide a promising way to improve the stiffness of polyethylene considerably. The crystallization kinetics study of PE in the composites has suggested that the interfacial bonding between Kenaf and PE appears to be ...
