Biodegradable Composites Reinforced with Kenaf Fibers: Thermal, Mechanical, and Morphological Issues
AbstractKenaf fiber reinforced composites were prepared via melt mixing using completely biodegradable poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate‐co‐3‐hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) and poly(butylenes adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT). Kenaf fibers were used as received and after chemical treatments aimed to improve fiber–matrix adhesion.

Delignification Pathways for the Engineering of Nanostructured Wood
Delignification severity in wood is determined by experimental parameters that control the removal of noncellulosic components, thereby shaping the resulting chemistry and microstructure. Although delignification is crucial for engineered wood fabrication, quantitative guidelines spanning different chemistries and processes are lacking.

Biocomposite materials have brought other possibilities to the manufacturing industry rather than synthetic materials. Biodegradable polymer materials such as polylactic acid (PLA) have attracted various industries’ attention for numerous applications due to their tensile strength (TS), while they have some mechanical weaknesses that prevent them from ...
