Enhanced Electrical Conductivity and Phenol Adsorption of Activated Carbon Fibers Derived From Palm Fiber Waste for Energy Storage and Environmental Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Activated carbon fibers (ACFs) were synthesized from palm fiber waste using a 15 w/v% KOH solution at varying activation temperatures. Structural characterization by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed the amorphous nature of the ACFs.

Towards Sustainable Building Materials: Enset Fiber–Reinforced Recycled HDPE Composites for Wall Tile Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This research investigates the development of ecofriendly wall tile composites by incorporating alkali‐treated enset fibers into recycled high‐density polyethylene (rHDPE). The aim is to explore the influence of fiber loading, length, and processing pressure on the mechanical, thermal, and water absorption properties of the composites.

Properties of kenaf fiber-reinforced polyamide 6 composites

open access: yese-Polymers
Abstract Despite the increasing interest in polyamide-based composites, few studies on polyamide-based natural fiber composites have been conducted due to their high melting temperatures of polyamide 6 (PA6). In this study, kenaf fiber-reinforced polyamide 6 composites (KF/PA6) were successfully prepared and their properties were ...

Mechanical properties of kenaf fiber–cement composites containing kenaf gamma-ray grafted with acrylamide

open access: yesJournal of Wood Science, 2014
Kenaf fibers have excellent properties and possess the potential to be outstanding reinforcing fillers in cement. The grafting of acrylamide to kenaf fibers is important in improving the compatibility between the fibers and the cement. Acrylamide was grafted onto kenaf fibers using gamma-ray radiation.
