Study of Risk Factors and Image Findings of Isolated Abdominal Incidentally Detected Aortic Dissection

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 429-435, March/April 2025.
We detect the risk factors and image characteristics of incidentally detected IAAD. Independent risk factors of IAAD included fatty liver and smoking. In the ultrasound findings of IAAD, an intimal flap was frequently observed. In the CT scan, displacement of intimal calcifications was frequently observed. For suspected IAAD, the abdominal aorta should

Understanding the associations between neurodevelopmental features and internalising and externalising behaviours: A transdiagnostic approach

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Internalising and externalising behaviours—significant markers for lifetime psychiatric vulnerability—are elevated in children with neurodevelopmental diagnoses, including autism. Although neurodevelopmental features of autism are dimensions that span the population, limited research has examined their differential patterns of ...

Corticosterone and Mitochondrial Efficiency Are Associated With Changes in DNA Oxidative Damage During an Acute Stress Response in Leach's Storm‐Petrels (Hydrobates leucorhous)

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part A: Ecological and Integrative Physiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ability of organisms to effectively respond to challenges is critical for survival. We investigated how an acute stressor affected corticosterone, mitochondrial function, and DNA oxidative damage in a wild population of Leach's storm‐petrels (Hydrobates leucorhous).

Applying the model for improvement to enhance recruitment and retention in a discharge intervention randomized controlled trial

open access: yesJournal of Hospital Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Background High recruitment, intervention fidelity, and retention rates in clinical trials are necessary to ensure generalizable conclusions; quality improvement (QI) methods can be used to track and improve these rates. The Garnering Effective Telehealth to Help Optimize Multidisciplinary Team Engagement (GET2HOME) study is a randomized ...

Heat and Cold Waves in Brazil: An ERA5‐Based Analysis of Trends and Seasonality (1980–2024)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
This study uses ERA5 reanalysis data to assess changes in extreme heat and cold events across Brazil from 1980 to 2024. Results reveal a sharp increase in heatwave frequency and a general decline in coldwave occurrences, though regional variations are substantial.

Atmospheric River Event Frequency Is the Principal Moisture Driver for Radial Growth of High‐Elevation Southern California, USA Conifers, 1658–2020 CE

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Conifers growing in high‐elevation alpine environments in the mountains of Southern California, USA, are highly responsive to atmospheric river (AR) events, which typically produce heavy precipitation over 1–3 days. However, it is the frequency of the AR events, not their magnitude nor annual precipitation totals, that most affects the radial growth of
