Vibrations in matter, from spider webs to molecules, water to flames, share a grammar with music. We propose that creativity emerges when constraints force expansion beyond existing possibilities. Selective imperfection restores balance, enabling invention.

Abstract Purpose Multiligament knee injuries (MLKIs) involving the medial collateral ligament (MCL) present unique challenges in surgical management and postoperative rehabilitation. This systematic review and meta‐analysis aimed to evaluate postoperative patient‐reported outcomes in patients with MCL‐involved MLKIs, with a minimum follow‐up of 2 years.

Abstract Purpose Posterolateral tibial plateau fractures (PLTFs) have been increasingly studied due to their association with soft tissue injuries around the knee. This prospective study aimed to determine whether the presence of PLTFs is associated with soft tissue injuries around the knee and correlates with an increased preoperative quantitative ...

ABSTRACT In this work, we introduce and study the p$$ p $$‐α$$ \alpha $$‐closest‐center problem (pα$$ p\alpha $$CCP), which is a generalization of the p$$ p $$‐second‐center problem, a recently emerged variant of the classical (discrete) p‐center problem.

This study presents a fast and accurate calculation tool to predict conveying of polymer melts in single‐screw extruders. Integrating generalized sub‐models into network theory allows to represent the complex screw shapes and material behavior more realistically. Tests on an industrial extruder show close agreement with experiments, outperforming older

On the honeycomb conjecture and the Kepler problem
This paper views the honeycomb conjecture and the Kepler problem essentially as extreme value problems and solves them by partitioning 2-space and 3-space into building blocks and determining those blocks that have the universal extreme values that one needs. More precisely, we proved two results. First, we proved that the regular hexagons are the only

The hard-core model on $\mathbb{Z}^3$ and Kepler's conjecture
We study the hard-core model of statistical mechanics on a unit cubic lattice $\mathbb{Z}^3$, which is intrinsically related to the sphere-packing problem for spheres with centers in $\mathbb{Z}^3$. The model is defined by the sphere diameter $D>0$ which is interpreted as a Euclidean exclusion distance between point particles located at spheres ...

ABSTRACT Electric utilities are expected to implement measures to improve their performance in all three dimensions of sustainable development—environmental, social, and economic. While several studies have investigated the environmental dimension, measures related to the social pillar have hardly been researched to date.
